I’m James Kelly, the creator of Blue Reel Fishing, the ultimate site for finding all of your fishing products, gear reviews as well as some fishing hints and tips. I have been fishing for as long I can remember, every opportunity I get I make sure I am out there looking to land my next big catch. I have used almost every piece of fishing gear that you can imagine and have created this website to share with you my experience and research that I have done over my lifetime.
Since a very young age I have been absolutely infatuated with fishing. When I was 6 my uncle took me on a fishing trip to Scotland which ended with me catching my first big Trout. Since then I have been absolutely hooked (pun intended).
Seeing as that was many moons ago, I have since aged and spent a large chunk of my time fishing in many countries all over the world. Some of my fondest memories are out on the lakes and rivers with friends trying to land the next monster catch.
The only problem I ever found with my hobby was that I often found it a headache to find the best products for the best value. Far too many times I felt like I was paying way over the odds in small fishing shops and I didn’t have the time to go out and compare against other products.
I dread to think of the amount of money that I have spent on equipment that was over priced or wasn’t quite suited to the type of fishing that I was doing. This led me to spend countless hours researching and scouring the internet for the best products from the best brands for the lowest price. It turned out the be very time consuming.
After a while of deliberating I have decided to share this journey with the fishing community by making this website and developing my own brand. My goal for the site is to share what I learn as I scour the web for the best fishing products and then pass that information back over to you (whenever possible). If I find anything of value and worth sharing on my journey then you will almost certainly find it on here.
My main goal is to help you guys on your fishing adventures and to make sure you get the best bang for your buck with your fishing purchases. I will go into detail with product reviews, how to’s and much much more.
I will also upload as many articles as I can answering people’s questions online and try to create a useful and valuable website for fishermen and women all over the world!
